Over the last 30 years, SEKISUI has developed several
special "fine particles" plastic materials.

Their latest is the thermo-expandable microsphere
ADVANCELL, meaning "Advanced Cells".

ADVANCELL contains a liquid hydrocarbon
with a low boiling point, encapsulated by a polymer shell.

When exposed to heat, the polymer shell softens,
the gas pressure increases, and the cell size grows
to three or four times its original size.
